Lately we can see less people smoking in public. Does it mean more people are becoming aware about the ill effects of smoking in the open, especially near school areas?
Yet somehow students can be seen smoking at some places.
We all know shops are not allowed to sell cigarettes near school premises. So the question is where do some students get cigarettes from?
Sometimes they even light cigarettes and throw them into the dustbin. What if there is a fire?
It's just sad and disconcerting to know that some people are careless about the non-smoking law.
One suggestion is for authorities to do a random spot check of cybercafes, or install CCTVs to monitor them. We must check if these shops are ignoring the Friday directive and operate behind closed doors too.
