Is it fair that a company's lucky draw prize be won by their own staff? Yes. This happened at the 2.30pm Tuesday Firemen Circus show at the National Indoor Stadium. We were shocked when we saw the winning lady dressed in the organiser's uniform with the word "management" written on the back who won the iPad. This was really a great disappointment as it turned out that the organiser too stood a chance to win. It is truly the first time a company has dared to allow such unscrupulous act.

I read with great interest the end of the recent LegCo meeting. However, it occurred to me that there were still some unresolved issues from last year. I am referring to the issue of property owned under a power of attorney (PA) arrangement. There are too many questions left unanswered and this year's meeting too failed to clarify the issue.

In reference to the letter published on March 27, 2013 in the Opinion section titled "Don't forget the pensioners, brave men of Fire and Rescue Department" by Bekas orang kerajaan, BSB, I support a scheme for firefighters and those involved in risky and dangerous jobs such as Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) and Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) personnel.
Although one of the Legislative Council members raised the issue of firefighters pension scheme, the Minister of Home Affairs replied saying there are no changes to the policy.
I am sure most of the firefighters may have possibly felt upset with the statement as they also function as "peacetime" heroes to maintain the safety and security of the nation similar to their RBAF and RBPF counterparts.
Just imagine, this year alone we saw how the firefighters had to bravely fight the Bukit Udal tyre landfill fire which occurred last February. We saw them work tirelessly day and night while putting their lives at risk and endangering their health in working in such dirty and polluted environment in order to sustain the country's green environment and uphold public safety.
Compared to firefighters whose work is visible and almost every day they attend emergency calls, the NCB and ACB also contribute a lot to the nation's safety and security in handling the nation's "silent killers" such as drug abuse and corruption. Although they work behind the curtain their work is risky not only for them but their families as well.
I hope the relevant authority will take note of the issue which has been talked about for years as these three agencies - Fire and Rescue, NCB and ACB - are contributing a lot to the nation's safety, security and stability.

I would like to make some suggestions to the organisers of the TelBru U-16 National League, which are the NFABD and also TelBru Sdn Bhd. To my understanding, 10 teams will be selected to play in the National League for the upcoming TelBru U-16 tournament. I noted that there would be five teams from Brunei-Muara District, two teams from Belait, two teams from Tutong and one from Temburong District.

I would like to share a very fearful experience my friend and I had last Thursday (March 28, 2013). We were enjoying our evening walk along the Service Road at W12 Jalan Maulana, Kuala Belait. Suddenly to our shock two aggressive dogs from one of the houses charged at us, attacking and fiercely barking. It was really a terrifying experience to face such an attack totally unexpected and unprotected.
