Bandar Seri Begawan (Nov 18, 1972) - An "unexploded bomb" at Kampong Sungai Burong, Ulu Putong, on Wednesday turned out to be a harmless road roller.
But Major Tony Hill, leaders of the Royal Brunei Malay Regiment's bomb disposal squad, said: "The workmen did just the right thing by calling us in.
"No one knew it wasn't a bomb. In fact, it was very much like an aerial mine and could easily have been very dangerous.
"Had it been a bomb it would have been dangerous because it was right next to the village and in a ditch on the Lamunin road."
He said that he and his companion, Captain S Cruikshank, were reasonably confident it was not a bomb.
