Sabah - Twenty-Six UBD librarians, library officers, staff and their family members went to Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia-for a four-day working/educational visit.

They went to the libraries of the Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) and Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Sabah; the Tun Haji Mohd Fuad Stephens Borneo Research Library and the Sabah State Library.

The group was headed by Awang Hj Abdullah bin Haji Tahir, Head of Lending Services Division and Coordinator of the User Services, Universiti Brunei Darussalam Library.

The visits aimed to strengthen ties, discuss issues of mutual interest, and learn more of the facilities, services and collection of the libraries.

Dayang Rukiah Awang Amit, Chief Librarian, made a presentation on the services, collection and facilities of the UMS Library.

The visitors went on a guided tour and saw the General Collection, Perdana Collection, Nobel Laureate Collection and Aseana +3 (Korea, Japan and China).

Lunch was hosted by UMS, which coordinated the UBD's visit to other libraries in Sabah, Malaysia.

At the Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Sabah, the delegates were welcomed and briefed by Encik Zulkifli Ismail, Deputy Chief Librarian.

At the Tun Haji Mohd Fuad Stephens Borneo Research Library, they were welcomed and briefed about the library by Puan Zaiton Bakri, Chief Librarian.

Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad's book collection was mentioned during the presentation.
