Bandar Seri Begawan - The Brunei-Muara District Department through the Enforcement Unit of the Enforcement and Licensing Section, reminded members of the public - particularly owners of business premises - to always keep clean as well as maintain their property and its immediate surroundings.
The department also took the opportunity to stress that both companies and residents should not do anything that may prevent the use of emergency equipment facilities such as fire hydrants, which are provided by the authorities for emergency situations.
The Brunei-Muara District Department, through its enforcement unit, issued a compound fine to a company located at Kg Lambak Kanan, under the Minor Offences Act, Section 12, 1(d), If the company fails to pay the fine, the matter will then be brought to court, and if found guilty, it will be liable for a B$1000 fine for the first offence.
Subsequent offence can lead to a B$3,000 fine as well as being sentenced to a maximum of three months' jail. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
