Please Allow Us To Celebrate Valentine!
Please Allow Us To Celebrate Valentine!
Just a couple more days come Valentine Day. It is a day where people and the loved ones come together and get cozy, celebrating their love for one another. I have seen a lot of advertisement on the paper, hotels giving special rates, restaurants giving Valentine dinner at special price, jewellery shops offering best gifts for Valentine celebrants and I like the atmosphere - the feeling of love in the air.
However, I felt it is quite a discrimination that in this country amidst the advert, actually discourage people to celebrate that auspicious day. Why? This was even mentioned in some sermons and talks. Why? Stop being so narrow minded.
Why discriminate the day of love? We are in a war here... with ourselves actually. It doesn't matter what race or religion for we have been taught to love one another. What is wrong with sharing love and kindness that day?

I would advise you to celebrate it in a discreet way or better yet fly off to the neighbouring country.

If you are a muslim, let me tell you that loving and caring should be celebrated everyday!

SUBAHANALLAH...I somehow agree what some earlier comments..
1. Cintailah Allah kerana tanpaNya siapalah kita untuk mencintai sesama manusia.
2. Ingatlah agama mu(ISLAM) kerana ia adalah agama yang akan membantu mu menjauhi bala bencana dunia apa lagi Neraka jahanam.
3. Cintailah dirimu dahulu sebelum menyintai diri orang lain.
As what Rus Lee have said, "loving and caring should be celebrated everyday" but in a good way..Not celebrating V' day... *sigh* Biarlah berpada-pada kalau becinta..Kalau udah kawin nda dilarang tapi masih diHARAMKAN menyambut V'day..Mun ganya masih becinta setakat boyfriend girlfriend, please lah...YOU ARE EMBARASSING YOURSELF here!!! and probably if you don't remember BRUNEI IS M.I.B country...bang your head on the wall then maybe you remember...LOL...
And if you are a non-Muslim, go ahead celebrate anywhere whatever wherever anything you want to do..There is no discrimination..BRUNEI is a MUSLIM country...bare that in mind...
Sorry kalau ada terkasar bahasa. Manusia tiada yang sempurna..

But on the other hand, if you're not muslim, do whatever you want eh. Just don't go too far and throw babies around dumps like some young idiots do. Please, think. We're not stupid, and so are you.
SUBAHANNALLAH. Love between a legal married couple....is a terrible sin to celebrate. SHAME ON YOU. and I am not even your mum.

first of all your headline on "Please Allow Us To Celebrate Valentine!"
-Who do mean by "us" actually?
"Just a couple more days come Valentine Day."
-wow...you seem to be eager for this day to come eh? I wonder whats in your mind...what is so special about it anyway?
"It is a day where people and the loved ones come together and get cozy, celebrating their love for one another"
-pathetic i must say...does it have to be this day only? what happen to any other day?
"I have seen a lot of advertisement on the paper, hotels giving special rates, restaurants giving Valentine dinner at special price, jewelery shops offering best gifts for Valentine celebrants and I like the atmosphere - the feeling of love in the air."
-well to them...its time to take business strategy and take this advantage to gain more profits on this so called "special" day. business is business...the smell of income is in the air~
"I felt it is quite a discrimination that in this country amidst the advert, actually discourage people to celebrate that auspicious day"
-define discrimination...as earlier comments given "us Muslim do not practice such celebrations".
"Why? This was even mentioned in some sermons and talks. Why? Stop being so narrow minded."
-and you're asking why? you did mention "in some sermon and talks" but do you understand what messages are they trying to tell? and uhh...are you a Muslim? and who is being narrow minded here? are you familiar with the word "Consequence"? Im not even surprised if the rate of early marriage rises after this day and a horible news after 9 month with a finding of...geez...
"Why discriminate the day of love? We are in a war here... with ourselves actually."
-The day of love...again, have you ever thought how many sins committed on this very day? and since you are defending this day...we are not in a war with our-self...you are simply trying to make a war with us... -_-"
"It doesn't matter what race or religion for we have been taught to love one another"
-true, but what does this have to do with this so called "special" day?
"What is wrong with sharing love and kindness that day?"
-who said it was wrong? we(Muslim)are just not allowed to celebrate this day..is that so hard to understand?
all in all, we cant resist from doing sins in our lives...we are just a human being after all...but we were given a brain to figure out what is bad and what is good...Im not a better person myself...but there is a fine line separating bravery and stupidity.

you think you still feel like going against the muslim fatwa.....I think its your decision up to you cuba lah kalau berani !!!! But I just like to remind you that if you are a muslim.....what you have said can caused you Kufur....(loosing your religion) which means u will be kafir (Non Muslim) already.......and if you are a muslim i also feel sad and sorry for a stupid person like you who dosen't know anything what is prohibited in islam...But if you are my friend i will tell him to say the shahadah again beofre its too late or you will die in pain ....real pain....Nauzubillah..!! Just because of your beloved valentine.......Menyusahkan diri. So dont try to be ego here going against the religion .....Cheers Good luck
