There's nothing wrong with wanting to celebrate valentines day, but you have to realized that Brunei is a muslim country, we do not practise such celebrations.

I would advise you to celebrate it in a discreet way or better yet fly off to the neighbouring country.

We appreciate love.But we look at the bigger picture,Bigger picture says its a Muslim country.Unless you're legally married,its still sinful even to go for a date,But Brunei is still considered a Modern Muslim world compared to other countries,but still we don't encourage things like this for obvious reason.Ask an ordinary senior Muslim in Brunei..Then you'll know.

I fully DISAGREE with what you are saying. First of all, you are talking aboyt discrimination..Stand infront of a mirror and ask yourself "AM I A MUSLIM??" If you are it is a big DISGRACE for you. It is named after one or more early Christian martyrs named Valentine and was established by Pope Gelasius I in 496 AD. Nama pope! PRIEST a.k.a PADERI kali tu ah!!! What do expect? I'm not Christian, and I'll tell you that a lot of people won't mind you celebrating, say having a nice dinner with your love one, express your love and dedication for each other. Do go ahead. The majority don't care much actually, its that small amount of ultra-conservative narrow-minded people who are messing around trying o control everyone.

We won't care if you're not a muslim, but if you're one, I suggest to not care about that. You do not know the history of Valentine (to be honest, there's a hell lot of stories behind it, one includes a man named Valentine who won in a war with muslim) and I, personally, am not a sex-or-love freak. If you notice, there's too many wild teens nowadays who only cared about their lovers and life and all the money, but they had forgotten about religion. If you're a muslim and still does not care about all this crap, go outside the country and NEVER COME BACK. You're a disgrace to the Islam religion.

But on the other hand, if you're not muslim, do whatever you want eh. Just don't go too far and throw babies around dumps like some young idiots do. Please, think. We're not stupid, and so are you.

-Who do mean by "us" actually?

-wow...you seem to be eager for this day to come eh? I wonder whats in your mind...what is so special about it anyway?

You know, if you want to celebrate your love with your loved ones that much, you can just spend your time with them everyday. There is no need for you to just wait for Valentine Day just to show your beloved how much you love them. Is it really that hard to show your love to your beloved everyday? V-Day is just an excuse for the businessmen to cash in money by selling chocolates/greeting cards and advertise their business. Use common sense please.

Everyone know Brunei is a Muslim Country(MIB).
They are more muslim in Malaysia & Indonesia.
If anyone said Muslim country cannot celebrate Valentine Day because of MIB then are you saying WE(Brunei) are better then THEM????
During Christmas time, i saw there's some muslim wearing Santa Claus hat, how come?? Christian Muslim or just a normal Muslim.

Valentine's is sooooo not a "Christian" holiday.... just go to any church and ask them if they're having V-day mass or church services, tak ada lah. Muslims like you only make the rest of us sound ignorant to the rest of the world with statements like atu haram, ini haram, semua pun haram.... Did you know that the computer/phone/software you're typing on is probably made by American (Christian) or Chinese (Buddhist) companies? Why don't you throw it away since it's haram? or that the car you drive is made by Japanese (Shinto)/Korean(Buddhist)/European(Christian) and it is also haram since it contributes to other religions and just ride an Arabian camel to work? Or tell your boss that you refuse to take off New Year's eve and New Year's and Sundays because it's based on the Roman and not our Muslim calendar? You need to get out into the world and not just hide under your tempurung....
