Bandar Seri Bwgawan - Some 31 jobseekers will be better equipped in securing a job as an accounts clerk following the participation of the basic book-keeping seminar which is currently held at the Job Centre in the capital.

The seminar, which is the 14th of its kind, is organised by the Job Centre under the Labour Department with cooperation from Deloitte & Touche.

The participants for the four-day seminar are jobseekers from three districts namely Kuala Belait, Tutong and Brunei Muara who are registered with Job Centre. ,

The aim of the seminar is to provide jobseekers with basic book keeping knowledge in order to increase their capabilities and chances of working as an accounts clerk.

During the four-day seminar, the participants will learn about revenue, debtors, record and documents among others.

According to Haji Mohammad Ideni bin Hj Ahmad, Assistant Commissioner of Labour, "The annual labour training of the book keeping seminar has always been very successful and this is partly thanks to the cooperation rendered by Deloitte and Touche for the past 14 years. We have always encouraged the cooperation with the private sectors."

He hopes that more companies would come forward in providing support in training the local jobseekers. Currently, the Job Centre also works with United Borneo and fin Brunei in providing training for the jobseekers.
