Malaysian Killed In Car Crash

The Two Foreigner' vihicle in really bad shape

Tutong - A 26-Year-old foreign man lost his life in a fatal traffic accident last Sunday night after a head-on collision with another vehicle around Jalan Telisai, Tutong.

The Tutong Police Station received an emergency call around 8.20pm and rushed to the scene to find the gruesome accident. Fire and Rescue with paramedics were also called in.

The deceased, a Malaysian Chinese working in Brunei, was driving a foreign registered compact car and was believed to be heading towards Bandar Seri Begawan while in the other saloon car was two foreigners aged 20 and 22 years old coming from the opposite direction. The impact of the accident was so severe that it shattered the front of both vehicles.

The Malaysian Chinese passed away on the scene due to multiple injuries while the other foreign nationals were rushed to RIPAS Hospital for treatment.

The Royal Brunei Police Force would like to seek assistance' from members of the public to provide any information about the accident by contacting the Tutong Police station at 4260917.

On Sunday, two foreigners also died in another fatal accident whereby the car that they were travelling in, slammed into a divider in Kg Kapok.

In light of the accidents, the Royal Brunei Police Force would like to remind road users to drive carefully especially during this rainy season.-- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin

More remainders & caution notice boards should be erected along the roads & highways.

if you think putting up signs would help reduce or stop this from happening again, then why not put up/install speed bumps? Nope, probably the better solution is education where the drivers need to be made aware of the dangers of speed and recklessness. there is also the option of harsher and higher fines cos some people value their money more than their life.
