20 Hijrah Babies Receive Gifts Galore

Bandar Seri Begawan - Twenty babies were born on the first day of New Year 1431 Hijrah at all government hospitals in the country were presented with gifts and account certificates from a number of contributors yesterday According to the Ministry of Religious Affairs, out of the 20 newborns, eight boys and 12 girls, 14 were delivered at Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (Ripas) Hospital, two babies at the Pengiran Muda Mahkota Pengiran Muda Hj Al-Muhtadee Billah Hospital, Tutong and four were born at Suri Seri Begawan Hospital, in Kuala Belait.
Present at the presentation ceremony at the Ripas Hospital in the capital were Minister of Religious Affairs Pehin Jawatan Luar Pekerma Raja Dato Seri Utama Dr Ustaz Hj Mohd Zain Hj Serudin and spouse, Minister of Health Pehin Orang Kaya Indera Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Hj Suyoi Hj Osman and spouse and Minister of Development Pehin Orang Kaya Hamzah Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Hj Abdullah Begawan Mudim Dato Paduka Hj Bakar.
Each of the new baby received a hamper in the form of clothing and equipment from the Ministry of Religious Affairs, a Si AlaiKu savings account worth $200 from Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam Berhad (SOD), a total of $250 contributed by Takaful Islam Brunei Berhad, as well as a Si Manja savings account worth $300 from Tabung Perbadanan Amanah Islam Brunei (TAIB).
In Belait, gifts were presented to the four Hijrah babies by the permanent secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Hj Mohd Mandi POKDSDDLU Hj Abdul Rahman.
Meanwhile, at the Pengiran Muda Mahkota Pengiran Muda Hj Al-Muhtadee Billah Hospital in Tutong, two Hijrah babies received gifts and account certificates which were handed over by the acting permanent secretary Hj Rosli Hj Mustafa, Ministry of Health, the guest of honour.
According to the Ministry of Religious Affairs, the annual event was initiated by the ministry in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Islamic financial institutions in Brunei.
"This is my rezeki (blessings) of Allah (SWT) to have a baby giri in the month of the New Year Hijrah1431," said one of the mothers who gave birth at Ripas Hospital.
Isna Shahrina Ishak said that she praised Allah (SWT) and the support of the nurses attending to her at the hospital in safely delivering her child.
Isna's baby girl weighed in at 3.21 kg and was delivered at 12.33pm. Her husband Mohd Raizal Hamidon stood beside her throughout the birth.
"It is great news to give birth in this special month. My husband and I have decided to name our first beautiful baby girl Nur Dania Batrisyia," said Isna, adding that she was also grateful for the gifts by the Ministry of Religious Affairs in commemoration of giving birth on the special day.-- Courtesy of The Brunei Times
