Honda Fcx Clarity - World's First Hydrogen Vehicle
Bandar Seri Begawan - In conjunction with the occasion of the 76th birthday celebration of His Majesty The Emperor of Japan, a Japanese Car Technology exhibition was held at the Main Conference Hall, International Convention Centre last night.
Big posters of Honda FCX Clarity were on display at the exhibition. The exhibition was organised by the Embassy of Japan in Brunei Darussalam, a press release stated.
Mr Loh Kok Sin, Managing Director of Happy Motoring Co Sdn Bhd, the exclusive distributor of Honda vehicles in Brunei Darussalam said, "The FCX Clarity is a next generation hydrogen fuel cell-powered sedan currently available on a limited lease-basis in USA and Japan. The sleekly styled hydrogen powered fuel-cell vehicle is propeller by an electric motor that runs on electricity generated by an on-board fuel cell stack. The vehicle's only emission is water, and its fuel efficiency is up to three times that of a moden gasoline-powered automobile and two times that of gasoline-powered hybrid vehicle."
During a press conference held in April 2009 at the New York International Auto Show and Mobil 1 at the Jacob Javits Centre in New York, the Honda FCX Clarity was named the 2009 World Green Car. The FCX Clarity was chosen from an initial entry list of 22 contenders nominated by 59 World Car jurors from 25 countries worldwide.
On Sept 22 this year at Grove Fuel Cell Symposium, Honda received the prestigious Grove Medal in recognition of the FCX Clarity hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicle.
The award was accepted by Yuji Kawaguchi, Managing Director of Honda R & T Ltd. On accepting the award he said: "We are honoured to accept this medal. At Honda, we believe that the automobile holds the potential for limitless dreams and excitement in the future. The FCX Clarity represents the beginning of the future. We hope you will continue to look to Honda with anticipation and we will continue to strive to become a company that society wants to exist."-- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
