Bandar Seri Begawan - Goodmiles Sdn Bhd has been appointed as the local representative for West Pacific Petroleum Inc, Challenge Holdings (Canada) Ltd, and Yunnan Challenge Petro Ltd following a signing ceremony yesterday at the Sheraton Utama Hotel.

On behalf of Goodmiles, the chairman, Awang Hj Misli bin Hj Tuah inked the agreement with Mr Lu Bao Qiang, the president of Challenge Holdings, and Yunnan Challenge Petro and chairman of West Pacific Petroleum.

Present to witness the occasion were Mr TC Chun, the Managing Director of Goodmiles;

Mr Qiu He, President of Kunming Municipal People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries; and Mr Wang Xuzheng, Vice Secretary-General, Kunming Municipal People's Government

According to Mr TC Chun, "The agreement has paved the way for business ties between Yunan Province of China and Brunei Darussalam. We will be representing the company in Brunei Darussalam to bridge any business ties."

"West Pacific Petroleum Inc, Challenge Holdings (Canada) Ltd, and Yunnan Challenge Petro Ltd are involved in a variety of services including petroleum, shipping and hotel. Hence there are a lot of opportunities for us to explore especially in tourism and shipping among others."

In term of tourism, he said, "We are looking forward to bring in tourists from Kunming, Yunan Province to Brunei. And if there are enough passengers, we may charter a flight from Kunming to Brunei. The chartered flight maybe realised six months down the road."

Mr TC Chun added, "Mr Lu Bao Qiang has shown keen interest and enthusiasm in Brunei's products during a dinner yesterday."
