Bandar Seri Begawan - Over 20 children signed up for the free trial learning of an innovative Math Monkey Programme offered during the grand opening of IKIDS Enrichment School in Kuala Belait yesterday morning.

The programme uses 'Vedic Math' from India which incorporates fun and interactive activities to help children solve various and complex mathematical problems mentally.

Present at the ribbon cutting ceremony to officiate the opening were owner, Mrs Doris Low, and Assistant Business Development and Operations Manager of Math Monkey (Malaysia), Mr Gim Tai Hock.

Gim said Vedic Math provides children with good understanding of the foundation of mathematics and allows children to perform mental calculations with great accuracy, simplicity and speed.

"Children can apply their learning during examinations and the programme assists them in other academic areas as well as build their personal growth,"

There are various levels of the programme based on the student's age. And prior to enrolment, students are assessed through the mathematical aptitude test to determine the level of learning best suited for them.

Enthusiastic parents brought their children to tour the classrooms and learn more about the programme offered at the new tuition school located in Kampong Pandan, Kuala Belait.

To mark its grand opening, the school further waived registration fees for parents who enrolled for the programme yesterday.

The free trial will give children and parents the fun learning experience aimed to instil interest in mathematics among young children.
