200 Take Part In Walk For Charity
The charity walkathon was organised by the Mukim Keriam Consultative Council was also to raise money for humanitarian fund for victims of Indonesia's earthquake and the Philippines typhoon, according to the deputy chairman of the organising committee.
Opting not to be named, lie said that an agriculture exposition was also initially planned but saw delay due to unforeseen circumstances.
He also told The Brunei Times that the activities planned out was the last for this year, although he was not in the capacity to share any accomplishments made by the council throughout the whole year.
Participants had to wait for the heavy rain to stop before commencing the walkathon. Leading the walkathon which was held at the Pasarneka Complex and Tamu Serambangun in Tutong, was Tutong District Officer Hj Ali Hj Idris.
The event took the male participants engaged on a 4km walk that around the nearby industrial area and along the highway, while the female participants and children walked a 3km route.
