The privileges that we earn from these connections and how all member countries depend on each other make it significant for us to be aware of Asean."

Speaking to the Bulletin, Muhammad Haziq Sideq yesterday said this before departing to the Philippines for the 4th Asean Quiz.

Two Maktab Duli Pengiran Muda Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah students Muhammad Haziq Sideq bin Asmad and Muhammad Adi Aiman bin Hj Rosli, as well as Maktab Sains Paduka Seri Begawan Sultan student Farah Diyana binti Awg Haris will represent Brunei at the 4th Asean Quiz (regional level) in Manila this year.

Prior to their departure, the Brunei flag was handed over to Coach Irwan bin Haji Abu Bakar by Dr Muhammad Hadi bin Muhammad Melayong, the Director of Information Department cum Committee Chairman of Asean at the Information Department.

It is hoped that the Asean Quiz will help promote awareness among youths on the roles of Asean in terms of achieving and maintaining regional unity and peace.

Moreover, the quiz aims to promote social integration among youths in Asean member countries.

Education officers Hj Md Sofri and Hjh Selapah also left for Manila, accompanying the students for the four-day event which concludes on December 4. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
