I support this idea of having proper guidelines for car modifications. I also support the statement that God gave us all the power to control our desires and not being excessive with our expenditure and spend our wives/parents/in laws money just to satisfy our desire to modify cars with a low salary.

However, I DO NOT agree that sports rims or sports exhausts are not dangerous. It all depends how you use it. Take for example a Toyota Echo with original 14" rims. I see people using 17 inch rims which is a +3 size up. This is dangerous as the braking is affected. In wet weather the light weight of the car is not sufficient to prevent hydroplaning and accidents occur.

As for sports exhausts it is just not cool to have something like a Toyota Vios with a Subaru exhaust making so much noise. Sports exhaust is fine, maybe a general limit to say 105 decibels?

Have you tried driving a 'potong spring' kereta down our highway at 100kph (speed limit)? The car will bounce up and down and cause the car to be unstable; this can cause accidents if say emergency braking needs to be done. Sport springs specific for car model is ok because there is progressive spring rate to prevent this bouncing. It all comes down to wise modifications, not simply modify. We should keep in mind safety for ourselves and other road users too!

Annoyance of Car Modification

Let me add, the sports exhaust should be totally not allowed! It is really noisy and also annoying. It is like showing the arrogance of the driver and relect their temper. This also include the riders, bikers and car with the sound system!

Everyone except those selfish sports car lover, hates it! I remembered during our time at a restaurant when this noisy car passed by - everyone got annoyed especially the old people. I could see from everyone's face that they were cursing them too. We all spontaneously cursing such people when their noisy car passing by and I knew it wasn't good for us to curse people. It also not good for them. Imagine an old people got shocked by the noise and 'curse' them. Have you heard "sumpahan orang tua ani kadang2 banar" and the word "ketulahan"? That's why most people like that became more ****** and not safe because they were already cursed. I'm just sharing this as an advice and warning. Becareful to those drivers.

Car modification that concerned me would be those with very bright front spot-light. I find it really hard to look at the road in front of me with the spot-light directly shining towards my eyes.

im not agree with SPIKYONE.. maybe what u said is true..but in Brunei most of the accident was done by STOCK CAR..no modification and using the original rims and exhaust.. so there is nothing to do with the modification..its the DRIVER itself ok.. TQ

Well,the use of sports rims and whatnot depends on the owner of the car itself. If he/she wishes just to change the appearance of the rims, be that way. It depends on whether they prefer to risk their lives or living in style and yet have safety in their minds. For people who only think that style comes over safety, they will change the sports rims to the size which is not suitable for the car itself UNLESS he/she has modified the braking so that the rims are suitable for the car. I am not implying that I am 100% agree on car modifications, but what I would like to point out is it's their money and it's their own problem if they face consequences (either being fined or worse, car accidents). For me, I just laugh out loud when I see a buruk style modifications. Peace!

Hehehehe, kerita buruk with their front hood sprayed black to look like carbon fibre.HAHAHAHAHA!!!!! Memajal lgi pakai spoiler and tinted separuh ja. Sport rims yg oversaiz and memakai brake cover yg plastic bercolour dari Hua Ho. Tsk tsk tsk! What are this mindless people thinking. I only respect to those guys yg modified their cars with precise accuruacy in terms of engine combustion and body kits to make their car looks superior and safe. Now that's what i call PROFESSIONAL.And btw those thunderous sound yg dorang modified atu they know nothing abt cars.They are using cheap parts (which explains their car roars but no power at all)If you take a look at world class modification, their cars DO NOT make annoying noise like Formula 1.Real pro modifcation makes smooth rhythmic sounds with a whole lot of power. So people pls categorised us car modifiers into two groups. The Pro and the BIMBOS...
