Bandar Seri Begawan - In support of nationwide efforts to promote road safety in Brunei, Mashhor Group of Companies yesterday launched the Brunei 'Tell-A-Friend' Road Safety campaign.

Initiated by the company's Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Department, the primary objectives A. the campaign launch are to cascade five road safety principals adopted as part of the road safety campaign and also to prevent further loss of lives on the road.

According to Mashhor HSE Head Rizal, "The campaign is initiated following the footsteps of BSP to convey the five safety rules of the campaign - namely, wearing a safety belt, to prevent the use of mobile phone while driving, to observe speed limits, to use pedestrian crossings, and to use safety helmets.

"As one of BSP's major contractors, it is our civic duty to adopt these road safety rules and help improve driving habits and make a major difference in everyone here in Brunei," he added.

During the launch, 30 Mashhor personnel watched a 20-minute video presentation that emphasised the importance of the five key road safety rules. It was followed with a discussion on road safety violations commonly occurring at the workplace.

Similar interaction and presentation will be conveyed to between 400 to 500 Mashhor employees in various sessions carried out throughout the month.-- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
