Nusa Laila Puteri School Celebrates 31st Convocation
Bandar Seri Begawan - Both Manggis and Kiulap branches of Nusa Laila Puteri School came together in celebrating its 31st convocation and education festival recently as part of their annual activity. The academic and extra-curricular achievements of pupils were praised during this event. Pupils that are graduating from Kindergarten Three to Year One are also congratulated.
The event was held at Dewan Muhibbah, Berakas. Stage performances were put on by the pupils of Kindergarten Three for students, parents, teachers, the school principal, members of the Parents-Teachers' Association, and other distinguished guests.
Nusa Laila Puteri School congratulated the students that participated in the National Science Ban Competition, which saw students winning 13 prizes earlier on this year.
Other competitions that saw students participating in during the year included colouring, an anti-drug choir performance as well as the formation of a mini-band to perform during the official opening for handicapped sports.
Nusa Laila Puteri School was also proud to obtain a 97 per cent pass rate in the recent PSR examinations.
Stage performances by students during the convocation included the Nasyid Orchestra, poem recitation, songs by the choir as well as Malay traditional dances.
A lot of students during the event all dressed up in bright colourful costumes from different countries displaying a spirit multi-culturism.
The entertainment was then followed by the handing of certificates to the Kindergarten Three pupils, by the chief guest, Manging Director of Islamic Insurance, TAIB, Awang Haji Osman bin Haji Mohd Jair. The handing over of prizes to outstanding pupils in Kindergarten Two and Kindergarten Three was carried out by spouse of the chief guest, Dayang Norliana binti Haji Md Aarif Lim.
The event concluded with the song Selamat Berpisah' or 'Good Bye' sang by all the young graduates, causing some members of the audience to shed tears as they listened to their children singing while waving their hands in the air.-- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
