De La Salle Students Visit Mingai Zari
Bandar Seri Begawan - The Tamoi Tengah traditional village is a village that preserves local cultures and lifestyles. The residents of the village provide jobs for themselves as well as preserve local skills.
The attraction of the village is an ancient house of Mingai Zari that showcases household items dating back as far as China's Ming Dynasty.
Mingai Zari was visited recently by a group of students from Singapore's De La Salle School.
The school's spokesperson, Cikgu Noorfizah Hasim, in an interview with the Bulletin, explained the purpose of their visit. She said, "This is my second trip to Brunei. Both the teachers and the students have been appreciative of the opportunity to come here and pay a visit to the traditional village of Tamoi Tengah".
"As a Malay person myself, I am really impressed with what I have seen so far here. So much heritage within this collection. Brunei is fortunate to have all this memorabilia." Meanwhile, the Mingai Zari owner, Awang Johan Suhaimi told the Bulletin, even though this house is only open to special guests and diplomatic missions, local tourists can also visit provided they have made an advance booking. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
