Sunshine School Holds 16th Commencement Exercise
More than a hundred pupils from Kindergarten 3 classes and Primary Six received their certificates of completion. Parents, alumni, administrators and school staff attended.
Mrs Naziancina G Ward, assistant principal, challenged the graduating pupils to work harder and to become more diligent in their studies as their success in the future depends on themselves and not on other people.
"Young as you are, you will be encountering more challenges, more strict teachers, new friends and classmates and you will be exposed to print media, the lure of the internet and vices which you might not resist but Sunshine School believes that it has mould you to become holistic individuals to face the challenges of school life", she said.
Dyg Nashita Nurhanah bte Abdullah, chairperson of Sunshine School Parent-Teacher Association 2009, the guest of honour, congratulated the graduates for their hard work and for the good results of the PSR 2009.
She thanked all the teachers for their efforts to develop their sons and daughters physically, mentally, socially and spiritually.
She saluted the parents for their support to all school activities and endeavours, including the Parent-Teacher Association's sponsoring the annual futsal.
The audience saw musical numbers by pupils such as the traditional Filipino "Pandanggo Sa Ilaw" dance and the Malay "Joget Dua". Butch Senope Jr and his brother Butch Joel sang "My Heart" and "Forever's Not Enough".
