Bandar Seri Begawan: Cash donations amounting to $9,60l was given to 11 families of Kg Ujong Tanjong in Brunei-Muara yesterday by Yayasan Sultan Hj Hassanal Bolkiah (YSHHB) and the Community Development Department (Japem) at the YSHHB headquarters in Jalan Kumbang Pasang.

The families comprising 32 family members were victims of a fire that burnt down their houses on midday of November 21 Presenting the donation to heads of the families was YSHHB Managing Director Dato Paduka Hj Ali Hashim Hj Daud and Datin Hjh Adina Hj Othman, Director of Japem The financial assistance given by the YSHHB is part of the objectives of its establishment, which is to ensure the welfare of the less fortunate is taken care of, especially those who are victims of natural calamities.-- Courtesy of The Brunei Times
