I am happy with my unrecognized degree

At 1st I am depressed with my degree.But I raise my head up and try harder.To me Degree is just a paper license to have a secure life in Brunei government.Now I earn more than my graduate frens and maybe at par with the Brunei Shell Degree holders.I learn the hard way by working at a private sector earning BND500 per month to give my parents 70% of my salary and monthly fuel consumption which leaves me BND70 every mth.I survived by selling newspapers and tin cans to buy nasi katok to survive the bulan tua.But that is old story.Now I run my own business.Working in private sector is rewarding in term of experience and i still stick to this words "The sky is the Limit".

its funny how sometimes ppl can't seem to understand the difference in the educational system between ozzie and uk...

ppl and some old typical folks (whose children are sent to uk to pursue their studies~) can't seem to understand that doing an HONS program in ozzie is EQUIVALENT to doing Masters in UK. In ozzie, a person who has first class honors will be qualified to do their PhDs..

bare in mind too, doing an HONS program is a big deal in ozzie...your eligibility is based on strict requirements: having an overall GPA of 5 or even above...if you're not eligible, than your application will be rejected...yes, doing HONS involves alot of competition!

In UK, i dun quite understand the system...but they actually automatically present the bachelor degree with the 'honors' title...be it that they only had to go through mini research proposals during their final year..true or not? the HONS program in ozzie is more than small coursework and exams..its more towards making dissertations and especially conducting pratical research in order to collect reliable and valid data...just like doing Masters...

Another diasppointment is that those student who have australian degrees "without honours" earn less than those who have Uk degrees "with honours". In order for australian degree holders to earn the same salay as UK degree holders we have to complete a full year of dissertation which is 15,000 words (only 5,000 less than a UK masters degree) which is extremely unfair.
