Awards, Certificates At CHMS KB Graduation Day
Kuala Belait - Chung Hua Middle School in Kuala Belait yesterday organised a graduation ceremony in acknowledgement of the academic achievements of its students.
Principal Hong Geok Cheng in her speech said, "The convocation ceremony witnesses the graduation of 200 students: - 75 from Primary VI, 68 from Secondary III, and 57 from Secondary V.
The ceremony was another significant milestone in the school's convocation history. It was the school's 65th convocation for Primary VI level, 51st convocation for Secondary III level, and the 27th convocation for Secondary V level, site added.
Apart from the distribution of graduation certificates, certificates of appreciation and school awards, the ceremony was also to present high-achievers with Meritorious Achievement awards in the form of scholarships, namely the Cheng Wah Restaurant Award, Pehin Temenggong Dato Lim Teck Hoo Awards, Chin Cheng Lan Bursury Awards, Lim Chow Hong Bursary Awards, and Pehin Temenggong Dato Lim Teck Hoo scholarships.
The Cheng Wah Restaurant Award is given to the top three students of each primary level from Year One to Primary Three.
The Pehin Temenggong Dato Lim Teck Hoo Awards are for the top three students from Year Four to Primary Six, the Chin Cheng Lan Bursury Awards are for the top two students of lower secondary level from Year Seven to Form Three.
Meanwhile, the Lim Chiow Hong Award is granted to top students in Form Four and Form Five, while the special Lim Chiow Hong Award is awarded to the top Form Five student.
Top Chinese Language students from Year Four to Secondary Four will also receive the Pehin Temenggong Dato Lim Teck Hoo scholarships worth $660 each and the cash will be used to fund the students' school fees.
The principal expressed hope that such awards and scholarships will inspire other students to reach greater academic heights.
