Chung Hwa Student Wins Bronze Medal
Bandar Seri Begawan -Kon Wei Keong, a student from Chung Hwa Middle School Bandar Seri Begawan (BSB), has made his school proud by winning the bronze medal at the Sixth International Mathematics and Science Olympiad for Primary Schools 3009 held in Jogjakarta, Indonesia early this month.
According to Kho Guik Lan, the school's principal, participating in the competition not only serves to stimulate students' interest in Mathematics and Science, but also provides an opportunity for them to interact with their peers from other countries.
She added that competitions can help schools identify the talents and strengths of students, which is the reason why such competitions are highly valued by educationists around the world. The competition is held annually, and the theme this year was "Smart, Skilled, and Creative in a Joyful Competition for Excellence". -- Courtesy of The Brunei Times
