Bandar Seri Begawan - Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah id the Community Development Department, Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports yesterday held a donation presentation ceremony for the victims of recent fires in Kampung Pancha Delima in the Brunei-Muara District and Kg Keramut Danau in the Tutong District.

At the function, Yayasan SHHB presented donations totalling B$10,000.00 to nine families comprising 32 family members that were affected by the fires. The recipients were Dyg Chua Wee Ching, Lee Ching, Aang Ting King and Ang Soo Ping from Kg Pancha Delima, as well as Hj Ibrahim bin Chakong, Shamshol bin Basri, Muhd Andhar bin Abdullah Gassireh and Hj Mohammad Nor Azlin bin Hj Ibrahim. A donation was also made to the family of the late Dyg Ang Soo Geok.

On hand to present the donations was Dato Paduka Hj Ali Hashim bin Hj Daud, the Managing Director of Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah. Some of the donations were also presented by Datin Hjh Adina binti Othman, Director of Community Development.

The function, which was held at Dewan At-Taqwa at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports building at Jln Kebangsaan, was also attended by the Assistant Managing Director of Yayasan SHHB and some government officers.

Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah was established with the aim of providing welfare assistance, while at the same time caring for and showing concern towards the unfortunate such as those affected by natural disasters including fires. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
