Bandar Seri Begawan - Tahlil and doa arwah prayers were held yesterday morning for the late Allahyarham Ustaz Hj Mohd Najdi bin Dato Seri Setia Hj Mohd Amin, a teacher of Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit Girls Arabic Religious Secondary School (SUAMPRIPAD), who passed away on October 24.

The ceremony was organised by the school's Students Council and Prefects in conjunction with Teacher's Day.

It was followed by a speech delivered by Acting Principal Ustazah Dayang Hjh Sarimah Hj Ahmad.

She cited a report by a consultancy firm McKinsey, on the world's best-performing school systems, and called upon teachers to acquire effective teaching skills such as utilising information technology (IT) and creative presentations in their lessons.

She also thanked the teachers present for their hard work and dedication in fulfilling their responsibilities throughout the year. The day's events included a poem recital by Humaira bte Hj Mail of Yea? 7 and oratorical declamations by Year 8 and Form 4 students. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
