Youths Urged To Organise Welfare Activities
This was highlighted by Hj Idris bin Hj Md Ali, the Tutong District Officer in his welcoming remarks at the 13th Tutong Youth Council Representative General Congress, which took place yesterday at the Seambangun Hall of Tutong Distirct.
He said, "I urge youth associations and welfare bodies in the Tutong District to produce members who are disciplined, dynamic, productive and responsible in developing the nation".
On the congress' achievements, he said, "The success of the council that is managed by the Youth Council of Tutong District is in line with His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam's aspiration towards building a united and responsible community."
The Tutong District Officer said, "I urge all members of the associations to be involved in welfare activities. I can see a number of associations who are active in organising welfare projects that have benefited the district.
Following the general congress, new council members were elected for the 2010-2011 session.
Awang Ahanapi bin Hj Mahadi (PEKASA) retained his post as the president, while the post of vice president went to Awang Abdul Khalid bin Abd Latif (GPPS), the permanent chairman is Awang Ismail bin Bahari (PEKLAP) and the secretary general is Awang Haji Sahari bin Hj Abd Rahman (KESUMA).
