‘Asean Cooperation Project: Training For Trainers/ Programme Concludes
Bandar Seri Begawan - Twenty officers from the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Development, National Management Disaster Centre (NDMC) as well As the Fire and Rescue Department received their certificates yesterday after participating in the `Asean Cooperation Project: Training for Trainers' programme.
The programme, organised by NDMC and the Asian Disaster Reduction Centre (ADRC), aimed to enhance the capacity of senior officers who were appointed as the training workforce at various sectors in the field of disaster management.
Lecturers comprised four experts in disaster-risk reductions from ADRC, based in Hyogo, Japan.
The programme consisted of discussions on hazards and disaster mapping, business continuity plans, introductions to the Hyogo action-plan framework concept and activities related to disaster management reduction at the national level
Finalising the three-day programme, trainers carried out risks and disaster mappings yesterday at two villages in Tutong, where the trainers could get a hands-on experience and upgrade their capacities in facing as well as handling natural disasters before receiving their certificates.-- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
