Seminar On Traditional Text Education Ends On High Note
The working-paper format seminar with the theme 'Mempertahan dan Memperkasa Pendidikan Teks Tradisional', or Strengthening and Empowering Traditional Text Education, saw a total of 300 participants attending the seminar.
Present at the closing ceremony yesterday was the representative for the Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Ustazah Zasia binti Sirin.
Several resolutions were concluded at the seminar, which among others include introducing, executing and then developing the teaching and learning system with 'bertalaqqi' starting from primary school to tertiary level for formal education, as well as religious halls, surau and mosques for informal education.
The seminar also saw the participants agreeing to the suggestion for KUPUSB to publish a dictionary of old `jawi' terms and new `jawi' terms, as well as a translation for old Arabic language phrases, which are contained in the turath books.
The seminar was aimed at exposing the roles and the importance of traditional text in the spread of Islamic knowledge to the participants, as well as to spread further the traditional text to the community. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
