It's A Funny World
London's Scrumptious Skyline
London's Scrumptious Skyline
London's skyline has been recreated out of 26 different types of fruit and vegetables ranging from green beans to kumquats.
It took photographer Carl Warner and his team three weeks to create the commission for the Good Food TV channel.
Challenges included choosing the right foods to recreate the grandeur of the iconic buildings and then keeping the fruit and vegetables fresh for the final image.
The Houses of Parliament was created from a mix of asparagus, green and runner beans mixed with baby sweetcorn to depict the intricate stonework of the landmark.
Nelson's Column was made out of a carrot, a monkey nut and an almond, the London Eye had green beans as spokes and its pods carefully crafted out of baby plum tomatoes, and the Gherkin building was made from two types of melon and embedded with green beans.
St Paul's Cathedral was made from roundels of carrot, yellow and green courgette and baby leeks, while the dome was made out of a melon and baby sweetcorn. Tower Bridge was crafted from pineapple, celery and shredded wheat.
Good Food channel head Roopa Gulati said: "This is a stunning image which has quite literally transformed the London skyline through good food proving that fun with food in a creative and light-hearted way is the way forward." -- Courtesy of Ananova.com
