Writing Workshop For Government Staff
According to the guest of honour, Dayang Hajah Aminah binti Hj Mom in, the Acting Director of the Language and Literature Bureau, "The workshop is to provide exposure on the techniques of writing especially to new staff in the field of general writing, to further enhance the talent of writing among staff as well as for them to gain the knowledge of proper writing."
She added, "The workshop is one of the steps taken by the Language and Literature Bureau to produce writers and editors who are good at the job of writing and editing.
"Every year, the Language and Literature Bureau publishes almost 100 books and another four journals. Therefore, a editor needs to understand and be good at his/ her work and responsibilities as knowledge on writing is a must."
The participants of the workshop have come from the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, Language and Literature Bureau, Museums Department and History Centre.
A specially invited lecturer from Malaysia, Encik Fauzul Na'im Ishak, was on hand to conduct the workshop.
Among the topics that will be discussed are the writers and editors world, creativity and fresh ideas, techniques of writing, copyright and others. The workshop will conclude on November 19. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
