Water Fluoridation is banned in 98% of Europe and Japan for good reason: The toxic hazmat added to "fluoridate" water is fluorosilicic acid-and it is more toxic then lead. Just 5 grams will kill most men.Dentist have no authority outside the oral cavity,they are not toxicoligist, just dentist.

Another reason we don`t need fluoride in water is that it is in food from processing it with fluoridated water. Mercury is in a lot of things and I bet you think that is safe too Ms. Dentist..

Fluoride causes dental fluorosis ,obesity,arthritus,cancer and a docile mind. Why do they tell you not to swallow toothpaste but if you do to call a poison control center. That is 1/4 mg of fluoride,the same amount that is in 8 oz. of fluoridated water.Who are you supposed to call if swallow a glass of water? It is straight from the scrubbers of the aluminum and phosphate industry. They would have to pay a huge amount to dump this hazmat but instead sell it for water fluoridation. The new science on fluoride is alarming. It is the new abestos,lead, mercury or DDT. It is also mass medication which is wrong.

Five reasons to reject fluoridation

There are many reasons to oppose fluoridation of water systems:
See (www.fluoridealert.org) "50 Reasons to Oppose Fluoridfation" by Dr. Paul Connett.
He lists 190 reaearch studies to support the 50 reasons.

1. Government should not dictate that everyone must take a chemical against their will.

2. It is insanely inefficient with 99.5% of fluoridated water going down the drain, wasting 99.5% of the chemical cost. People only drink 0.5% of the water they use. A plan to give away fluoride tablets free would be much cheaper.

3. It is not effective in reducing cavities. Most countries in Europe no longer fluoridate water systems. They are 98% fluoride free, yet the World Health Organization reports that nine of those countries have better cavity rates than the U.S. or any fluoridated country. Many other research reports show the same ineffectiveness of fluoride.

4. The toxic waste fluoride chemical, Hydrofluorosilicic Acid, is collected from the smokestacks of companies and sold to communities. It contains lead, arsenic, mercury and much more. It would be very expensive to process such waste, and it is illegal to dump it into our environment. So, over 1/2 million tons each year in the U.S. ends up in our water and our environment anyway.

5. The most important reason to oppose fluoridation is the very severe health problems it causes. 50% builds up in the bones, brain, and glands, causing cancer, broken hips and lowered IQ in children. Fluoride causes Hashimoto's autoimmune thyroiditis, a common form of hypothyroidism which I was diagnosed with in 2007. Now that I avoid fluoridated water and all products containing it, I have normal thyroid activity and I take no medication. Fluoride was used to lower the metabolism for people suffering from hyperthyroidism (over active thyroid) in 1930’s so it is not surprising that it impairs thyroid function in normal healthy individuals. According to Thyroid Australia hypothyroidism affects 6-10% of the population who require medication every day in order to survive.

Anything that is taken in excessive amount is toxic/harmful.. be it too much water, too much sugar, too high doses of drugs or medication. Yes, dentist may not be toxicologist but they are aware of the effects that fluoride can have on the dental health

There is evidence that too much fluoride ingestion can cause dental fluorosis, and it happens in young children eating toothpaste without parental supervision; toothpaste contains about 1000ppm fluoride which is equivalent to 1mg fluoride per gram of toothpaste. Thus young children should have only a smear of toothpaste and be supervised by their parents when brushing and to rinse their mouth thoroughly with water afterwards.

Community water fluoridation is 0.8-1 ppm, a concentration that will not cause dental fluorosis, but has the beneficial effect of reducing dental decay

NHS centre for Reviews and Disemination 2000 found that in a systemic review:

(1)Fluoride was associated with a reduction in level of dental decay (2) There was a dose response between the amount of fluoride in the water and the level of fluorosis (3) No harmful effects were found (4) Fluoride was still associated with reduction in caries even in later years when fluoride toothpaste was commonly used.

Systemic review differ from other types of review in that they adhere to strict scientific design in order to make them more comprehensive, to minimise the chance of bias and to ensure the reliability of the evidences.

From the 'published studies' you mentioned, there are not a lot of evidence saying water fluoridation causes cancers such as osteosarcoma/osteogenic sarcoma or that it causes lower IQ among children. These studies are mainly case reports or 'short stories' that do not give the evidence much strength. Furthermore, horses dental health do not and will not reflect on human's dental health. It's wiser to look at solid evidences and not to accept and take anything that is loosely told by scientists with "PhD or nobel prize winners". Again, they are not within the dental field in the first place and it makes me wonder whether they read dental literature well enough.

Some simple facts regarding water fluoridation: (1) 20-40% reduction in caries over a lifetime (2) Caries increase after fluoridation cessation. Water fluoridation is advantageous in that it is safe, efficacious, cost- effective, consistent, good population coverage, low risk of overdose, reduces social economic inequalities and patient compliance is not needed.
