Flouridation: Another Study Proves Otherwise...

A study done by Wright et al 2001 suggest otherwise: "The cost-effectiveness of fluoridating water supplies in New Zealand" Australian an New Zealand Journal of Public Health 25:170-178,2001 "Tooth decay has been substantially reduced in New Zealand, and the difference in caries rates between fluoridated and non-fluoridated areas has narrowed.

We investigated whether it is cost-effective to fluoridate water supplies that are now non-fluoridated." "The net cost of fluoridation was based on the cost of fluoridating a water supply minus the averted costs of treating decay. A range of population sizes was considered.

The main analysis was conducted from a societal perspective, using a real discount rate of 5%. Fluoridation was assumed to occur continuously between the years 2000 and 2030. Other assumptions were a Maori population proportion of 15%, no new decay after age 34, and no further dental cost savings after age 45.

Information on averted decay in 4 to 12 year old New Zealand children (29,000 receiving fluoridated water and 47,000 receiving nonfluoridated water) was available; information on averted decay in adults was obtained from a study in the United States. Sensitivity analyses investigated the effects of varying the Maori population proportion, the discount rate, and the number of fluoride injection sites." Results: "Fluoridation was cost-saving (dental cost savings exceeded fluoridation costs) for communities above about a thousand people. The true break-even community size may be lower.

For smaller communities, fluoridation may be considered cost-effective depending on the non-monetised value assigned to an averted decayed surface. Conclusions and implications: "Fluoridation remains very cost-effective, and is particularly so for communities with high proportions of children, Maori, or people of low socio-economic status."

Fluoride is more toxic then lead and causes dental fluorosis,(They did not figure the cost of veneers to cover up the ugly teeth in that study)obesity, arthritus, cancer and a docile mind. Why do they tell you not to swallow toothpaste but if you do to call a poison control center. That is 1/4 mg of fluoride, the same amount that is in 8 oz. of fluoridated water.Who are you supposed to call if swallow a glass of water? It is straight from the scrubbers of the aluminum and phosphate industry. They would have to pay a huge amount to dump it but you will pay them over for it and spend more for the equipment to put it in the water. The new science on fluoride is alarming. It is the new abestos, lead, mercury or DDT. It is also mass medication which is wrong. There is much information on the internet, read it or consult a toxicoligist, but educate yourself on this.Click this link to watch a short video of Dr. Bill Osmunson ,a dentist of 30 years with a masters in public health explain. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Ys9q1cvKGk

Fluoridation is a scam
written by jwillie6 , November 15, 2009
Many research studies show fluoridation is ineffective, including 14 years of data from 17 countries by the World Health Organization. The latest was published by a dentist in the U.S. Dental Journal, JADA, last month. You should go read it yourself. Considering the severe health destruction caused by fluoridation, one can only follow the money trail to find any reason to use it.
"JADA Study Proves Fluoridation is Money down the Drain"
NEW YORK, Sept. 29, 2009
Children's cavity rates are similar whether water is fluoridated or not, according to data published in the July 2009 Journal of the American Dental Association by dentist J.V. Kumar of the NY State Health Department(1),

Fluoride causes Hashimoto's autoimmune thyroiditis, a common form of hypothyroidism which I was diagnosed with in 2007. Now that I avoid fluoridated water and all products containing it, I have normal thyroid activity and I take no medication. This affects 6-10% of the population who need to take medication every day of their lives to survive. Fluoride also contributes to hormonal cancers - it displaces iodine in the body rendering it less effective. It contributes to bone/hip fractures, affects the reproductive system and causes chronic fatigue. Add up the costs for medical expenses and care for this lot and you can see how cost uneffective fluoride really is.
