Woman Drove Pick-Up Into Fish Tank

A woman driving a pick-up truck crashed into a 1,500-gallon aquarium at a US airport.

The tank, containing tropical fish, was part of a public art programme at Tampa International Airport, reports the Daily Telegraph. The driver and the young child sitting in her lap survived, but the tropical fish were not so lucky.

Yamile Campuzano-Martine, 36, lost control of her vehicle and drove into the saltwater tank outside the American Airlines baggage claim area, airport officials said. The driver had an unrestrained six-year-old boy sitting on her lap, said airport spokeswoman Brenda Geoghagan.

About 90 per cent of the 30 to 40 saltwater fish in the tank were killed.
