Brunei Four Wheel Association To Join German Duo In Indonesia Expedition
Bandar Seri Begawan - The Brunei Four Wheel Association will join a visiting German couple in an expedition to Indonesia in early December, said Barbara Biggemann, one of the German travellers.
During the couple's meet and greet session with the public at Muara beach yesterday, Biggemann said that they have met with the association a few days ago and had agreed to travel together for the trip.
She is accompanied by her husband Jost Organista, where both had finished travelling through Australia before arriving in Borneo, visiting Sabah state before arriving in the Sultanate last week.
Biggemann recounted that some of her experiences during her travel had been positive and expressed satisfaction with the hospitality they received from The people of Brunei.
"They are very nice people, really helpful, really amazing, it's like a snowball effect where each and everyone continue to help out," she said. She went on to say that Brunei is very clean and safe, adding that "we can leave our car and there will be no problem".
During their stay in Brunei, they met Sheikh Jamaluddin Sheikh Mohamed, chief executive officer of Brunei Tourism, and Brunei's own world traveller Norhayati Abu Bakar. The couple also managed to visit other interior parts of Brunei, including Labi.
The duo is expected to depart Brunei between Tuesday or Wednesday, and will continue their journey to Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia and headed for the North through to the rest of the Mean states enroute to Germany.
Once they return, they will start work on a documentary on their experiences to share their adventure about the people they meet and the cultures that they have observed.
While they are expected to complete their journey by mid-2011, Biggemann is already thinking about future travelling plans.
We are thinking of travelling within Germany, as there are some places we know we haven't visited yet and probably visit Africa and later on South America," she said.-- Courtesy of The Brunei Times
