Bandar Seri Begawan - The Ainister of Health, Pehin Orang Kaya Indera Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Hj Suyoi Hj Osman, yesterday presented certificates to 46 officers from the ministry who completed the two-day workshop on Health Policy Planning and Health Systems Research in a ceremony at the Royal Brunei Polo & Riding Club in Jerudong.

The three main goals of the workshop was to help advance and provide support in research towards the improvement of health, to build a foundation for health research and to promote the training and development of health researchers in Brunei.

Ministry of Health (MoH) Permanent Secretary Dato Paduka Hj Abd Salam Abd Momin and other senior officials front the ministry were also at the event.

During the event, Prof Phua Kai Hong, a consultant for the workshop from Singapore's National University delivered his recommendations for the National Health Research Plan, which is to serve as a blueprint to improve on the effectiveness and efficiency of health services. The two-day workshop, was officiated by Deputy Minister of Health Pehin Orang Kaya Pekerma Laila Diraja Dato Paduka Hj Hazair Hj Abdullah and was to charged with preparing the ministry's Research Blueprint as part of the initiatives to improve in health services as one of its strategic objectives in achieving the ministry's vision.-- Courtesy of The Brunei Times
