Enhancing Ties Between Belait And Sabah's Lion's Club
Kuala Belait - The Lion's Club ofBelait District yesterday afternoon hosted a fellowship lunch for over 81 members of various Lion's Club in Sabah who was passing by Kuala Belait in a rally expedition called the 'Lions Action in Rally' to Mid, Sarawak.
According to club's president, Linda Chia, the members began their road journey two days ago from various parts of Sabah and were heading to Miri for the club's induction dinner.
Club members in Belait then took the initiative to foster closer relations among members and provide updates on the development of respective clubs within the neighbouring countries, by hosting lunch at a restaurant in Kg Pandan, KB.
The Lion's Club in Belait is established to serve the community in the district and currently has 22 members. Just recently, the club members also visited the Chung Lian Sungai Liang School and Chung Hwa School in Labi to provide students with free vision screening in conjunction with the International Sight Care day.
And following that, the club has donated 20 spectacles and six extra spectacles from the Vision Care store to needy students.-- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
