Mangrove Resort Opens On The Brunei River
Mangrove Resort Opens On The Brunei River
The resort is situated on the bank of the Brunei River, quite literally above the water and intentionally built to look much like Kampong Ayer.
With its location, the resort boasts a magnificent view of the Brunei River, as well as an ultimately peaceful and serene atmosphere to calm even the tensest of nerves.
One of the Mangrove Paradise Resort's facilities is the Z'yan Restaurant, which offers an array of fresh seafood, including crab, kerapu and seabass.
Other facilities include 15 fully-furnished chalets, the Z'yan Restaurant, the Dee's Spa, a conference room, a surau and two swimming pools.
The resort also offers fishing, at $3 per entry. You can bring your own fishing gear at a service charge of $1 or rent equipment for $5.
Although the date of an official launch has yet to be confirmed, the resort is now open and is currently offering a promotion of $128 a night (inclusive breakfast for two).
In an interview with Brunei Tourism Board CEO Sheikh Jamaluddin Sheikh Mohamed had this to say, "I am happy with the resort. My department will be helping to market it.
"Kg Ayer is one of Brunei's most special features - it differentiates Brunei from other countries, so a resort on the river that looks like a water village is very Brunei.
"Public response has been positive, and I think it is very good that the resort allows people to have dinner while getting in touch with their roots. Most of the demand is from locals, which is in line with our KNK (Kenali Negara Kitani)," he added. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin

The service is terrible, the room was dirty and not cleaned at all, the stench from the mud and pollution at low tide was awful and there were huge rats running around. There was no member of management on duty at all and the staff did not know what to do.
A sad waste of money.
