Bandar Seri Begawan - Some 23 students from Year Five and Year Six of Bright Jigsaw International School made a visit to Pusat Ehsan in Bengkurong, yesterday.
The group, led by Ms Onini Suriali, was welcomed on arrival at the centre by Hj Abd Hamid Maaruf, Head of Administration, Programme Coordinator and students of Pusat Ehsan. Hj Abd Hamid then held a briefing for the visitors in which he thanked the students for their keen interest in visiting Pusat Ehsan.
The purpose of the visit was to enable students to cultivate their interest and awareness on the cause of caring for special needs children at the centre.
At present, 112 special needs individuals are registered with Pusat Ehsan, undergoing 10 different types of programmes under the supervision of teachers, assistant teachers, physiotherapists, occupational therapists and supporting staff.
After the briefing, the visitors were given the opportunity to witness the activities of the special needs children as they were brought on a guided tour of the classes, workshops, rehabilitation units as well as a hydroponics and orchid section.
Pusat Ehsan is a non-government and non-profit charitable organisation committed to providing quality education, training, and care and rehabilitation services for individuals with special needs. The visit ended with the presentation of souvenirs and a photo session. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
