Officers at one of the workshops.
Car workshops in Seria were yesterday scrutinised by a team of 23 officers during a joint operation, which was spearheaded by the Law Enforcement Unit of Kuala Belait / Seria Municipal Department.
The operation involved officers from the Municipal Enforcement Unit, Immigration Department, Labour Department, Health Department, Land Department and Fire & Rescue Department in Belait District.
Faulty fire extinguishers, expired 'Rampaian' licences, poor level of cleanliness, unorganised housekeeping and failure to settle building / land tax payments were among the irregularities found during the inspection.
The one-day operation was aimed at ensuring that workshops comply with the rules and regulations as stipulated in their Miscellaneous Licences.
