Bandar Seri Begawan - EIGHT students with two instructors from the Bake and Pastry course of Youth Development Center attended the Indra Baking and Cooking demo session at the Le Apple Bakery yesterday.

Conducted by famous pastry Chef Ibu Vonny, the students obtained tips and recipe for making donuts, cakes, puddings, cookies and many others. The five-day baking and cooking class came to an end yesterday and Chef Ibu Vonny in an interview said, "I am impressed with the students' abilities to learn and understand my classes easily."

Ibu Vonny has been conducting training since 1968. Learning from United States and European countries, the pastry chef hopes she could spread the joy of cooking to people in the region. She said, "My passion for cooking came from .my parents and my grandparents who love to cook. Life is all about cooking good food."

Meanwhile, one of the instructors Dyg Siti Noor Dzulkhairi binti Hj Awang Damit said, "The class is very lively and interactive. The students and instructors learn various recipes on making cakes, cookies, donuts and many more.

"This is the second tune that students front the centre have joined the class. The first batch was in 2007. The students will finish their studies this October and then will go on a nine-month industrial attachment before graduating," she added.

Meanwhile, today Le Apple will be organising Steak Eropa cooking class at 2.30pm followed by a Donut Baking class at 7pm at the their branch in Menglait. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
