Alif Technologies Nurtures Local Talent By Sending Staff To Study
Bandar Seri Begawan - A Leading ICT company in Brunei Darussalam, Alif Technologies, has been actively involved in developing its human capital by sponsoring members of its staff to pursue technical and academic qualifications. This ensures that staff members will be more capable in the workplace and by contributing to the development of local talent; this in turn will further support the ICT industry.
Recently, one of its employees, Pg Sufian Pg DP Maidin, who has now returned home to Brunei, obtained a first class honours degree within the field of computer science from a renowned university in the UK.
"I am extremely grateful for all the support given by Alif Technologies and my special thanks to the chairman who has been one of my prime motivators", stated Pg Sufian who will be pursuing his Masters in Technology Management under A1 if's sponsorship.
Presently, more than 70 per cent of Alif Technologies employees are young local graduates, recruited from local higher institutions such as UBD, ITB and MTSSR and the company believes in continuously developing and seeking knowledge as well as skill enhancement for its staff. Other employees have undergone courses such as MBAs and ICT related courses.
The chairman of Alif Technologies who is also the chairman of the Infocom Federation of Brunei (IFB), which represents the ICT industry, remarked that being a player in the ICT industry, it is their responsibility to ensure that locals are provided every available opportunity to pursue and upgrade themselves academically and technically.
"This is in line with the government's vision to nurture local talent and to develop their full potential to support the industry and Alif Technologies is fully committed to this", he added.
