DPMM FC Face Tampines Tonight

10pic49Bandar Seri Begawan - Brunei DPMM FC will be without defender Rene Komar and playmaker Sairol Sahari when they face Tampines Rovers in a bid to leapfrog into second place in the S League tonight (Friday) at Jln Besar Stadium, Singapore.

Both players are suspended for a game after collecting three yellow cards in previous matches.

However, there is a silver lining for Brunei DPMM FC as Abdel Hamid and Hj Subhi Abdillah who have missed the last match against Sengkang Punggol will return to the squad. The resurgent Tampines Rovers (32 Points) are currently sitting on third spot, leading Brunei DPMM FC only in goal difference. A win tonight for Brunei DPMM FC will see the team overtaking Gombak FC (34 points) and Tampines Rovers into second position from fourth spot.

Pengiran Haji Muhd Waslimin bin PSJ Pengiran Haji Abd Momin, the team manager in a telephone interview said, "it will be a tough match-up against Tampines, we will be missing the services of import Rene Komar and Sairol Sahari. Both men are suspended after collecting three yellow cards in previous games."

He revealed that "Suhaime Yussof will be playing in the place of Rene Komar and Helmi Zambin will be in the place of Sairot Saban".

"The good news is that we will have Abdel Haimd and Hj Subhi Abdillah, who had to miss out on the last game because of suspension as well," he said.

"The men that we have to look out for are midfielders Akihiro Nakamura and Sutee Suksomkit."

On April 3, Brunei DPMM FC played out a 1-I draw with Tampines Rovers after Sutee Sksomkit scored on the 75'h minute after an own goal by Shariff Samat on the 65th minute.

Recalling the last game that ended with a defeat of 2-1 on the hand of Sengkang Punggol, Pengiran Waslimin expressed, "we didn't play well, especially in the first half. The ball wasn't moving for us. Without the presence of Abdel Hamid and Hj Subhi, our team wasn't the same."

Meanwhile, RTB has announced that the tonight's match between Brunei DPMM FC and Tampines Rovers will be telecast live from 7.30pm onwards on RTB2.

RTB spokesman, Hj Mohd Taha Hj Mohd Tahir said, "The Live Telecast will be brought by DST Group. On behalf of the Acting Director of RTB, we wish to thank DST Group for their support and also DPMM FC, Sri Sentosa and Maju Motors which have been partnering with RTB to bring the S/League games live to its audience in Brunei Darussalam.

"Brunei DPMM FC so far have not lost any of their matches at the ground of fin Besar Stadium and that is where they also captured the first cup of this year, the Singapore League Cup in a very exciting match by beating Singapore Armed Forces FC in the finals. Let's hope and pray they keep their unbeaten record", said Hj Mohd Taha."

RTB's Radio Harmoni FM will also bring the match live to their listeners.
