A local retail chain store, 123 Ramli dan Zakaria Sdn Bhd, recently renovated their outlet at Batu Bersurat to help better serve their customers and provide an improved sense of comfort.
According to the store's manager, Mr Tan Chin Heng, they have been operating in Brunei since 1999. He also said in order to show their appreciation to all their customers; there is currently a 'buy one free one' on-going promotion at the Batu Bersurat branch.

Mr Tan said, "We currently have four branches in Brunei, one at Batu Bersurat which is our main branch, two at Kg Salambigar and one at Kuala Belait. We are about to open a 5th branch in the near future at Kg Bengkurong as part of our business expansion plans to help cater more effectively to our customers in different areas."
123 Ramli dan Zakaria specialises mainly in selling products and items such as gifts and souvenirs for Malay weddings, as well as plastic wares that are mainly imported from Malaysia, Indonesia and China. There are also packages available for those who would like to purchase in bulk.
When asked of his view regarding the current business climate in Brunei, Mr Tan said the business still manages to do well though undeniably, sales had slowed a little due to the current recession fears.

However, he remains optimistic that businesses and sales would pick up especially with the upcoming Hari Raya celebrations. Some people may associate low-cost and affordable-priced products as inferior but Mr Tan coolly shrugs off that idea and said, "Though we are a low-cost form of business with affordable pricing, we are always constantly trying to figure out ways in trying to provide our customers with more satisfaction and value for money. We definitely do not place quality at the end of our priorities." -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
