Jawi Writing Course For Officers
Bandar Seri Begawan - The Islamic Da'wah Centre, through its Course and Women Guidance Section of the Course Unit, is conducting a workshop on Jawi reading and writing for government officers and family strengthening course according to Islamic perspective for women associations under the centre's Tarbiyah Wanita Majlis Ta'lim programme.
Around 50 participants attended the Jawi writing workshop, which is facilitated by be two officials from the centre, Pg Yusdi Pg Rumbli and Amal Hayati Hj Amit.
The purpose of the workshop is to broaden and enhance participants' knowledge and understanding on the subject in order to gain confidence in performing their daily religious duties.
Among the topics covered in the workshop include reading practise, spelling and Jawi practical.
Meanwhile, 20 members of various women associations are attending the family strengthening course which is designed to enhance participants' religious knowledge to provide them confidence in performing their religious obligations and to inform of their rights as women according to Islamic law Syari'ah.
The course, among others, touch on issues related to abuse of women in Brunei and ways to handle it, as well as the roles of women in executing the Halal Food Control in the country.
As the topics are diverse, each respective topic will be delivered by officers from Aqidah Control Section, Halal Food Control Section and Family Counselling Section, Department of Syari'ah Affairs and Islamic Legal Unit of the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
The course will also feature a speaker from the Women and Children Abuse Investigation Unit, Criminal Investigation Department, Royal Brunei Police Force.
Held annually, the workshop and course will be held for the duration of five days. The closing and certificate awarding ceremony for participants of the workshop will be held on July 11.
