About H1N1 & School Holidays
About H1N1 & School Holidays
According to the Brunei health statistics more than 90% of A(H1N1) cases affect those groups under 40 and 20 years old combined, why is that?? Those under 40 are supposed to be considered strong, healthy and active portion of population, but what happens in Brunei?? Those Bruneians under 40s are having weak anti-bodies so their bodies couldn’t stand against any virus attack. Remember, no vaccine against A(H1N1) virus so we entirely depends on our blood antibodies to fight the virus.
One reason why those 'young' people are weak - they simply don't have enough REST and SLEEP to allow the body to rejuvenate and produce enough and strong anti-bodies in the blood. How could these young peoples have enough rest and sleep? Just think of their daily activities - they are so 'active' hanging around shopping complexes the whole day until mid-night and from mid-night until morning they are still awake texting MSN, mIRC, mig33 chattroom either through their desktops, laptops or handphones!!
Those coming from KK normally didn't have enough sleep and rest coz you know la that’s what do you call 'makan angin' otherwise its 'rugi' if you just sleep in the hotel on arrival in KK! And think of the long non-stop journey of 5-6 hours plus long ques at the immigration posts! No way could you have enough rest or good sleep – so they easy target to catch swine flu. Ask any teenager at any shopping mall, what time do you sleep at night? Majority of them will 'proudly' say at 2 or 3 am! What are you doing to stay awake until morning?? Their common answers simply 'on-line' or 'chatting'. No wonder Brunei youths are 'weak' on all fronts- education! sports! charity activity!
Those under 40s 'mums' and 'dads' please stop on-line chatting even though majority of you are too new to such technology! Think about your responsibilities as family heads and please show good examples to your kids!! Those who are actively involved with on-line chatting actually categorized as 'tidak laku' groups where through chatroom you could 'hide' behind your nick and cheat peoples that you are young, handsome, single, alim, cute, pretty, gorgeous, etc etc etc and manage to make yourself laku!! So now, let’s work together to subdue the swine flu by sleeping early and have enough rest!

Have you ever stopped to think that those people going out were on holidays from another country?? Or maybe teenagers who finished their studies but arent going overseas yet. Dont generalize the whole thing just because little miss know-it-all starts to assume them. Think before you speak. Maybe by shutting up you'd save everyone at least 2 minutes from reading your "work of art".

2. You sure your not basically tell who you are in the chatting world?
3. Do you even know how dangerous the virus is to start with?
4. You just plain sad. A loner, a guy who doesnt have someone to love you.
5. Were you cheated by the online world you speak of? ... Yup Your just saying things about the online world just because one sad memory happen to you.. how sad...not
6. How you write things up there, gets on my nerves
7. Reason for the 40 below question of yours:
We eat junk food. If you ask your grands what they eat when their young. You'll hear veggies and all those good nutrients that WE refuse to even touch let along eat.
Dont even start saying i eat veggies and all. Its Impossible for us to even like those bitter veggies. unless your a vegetarian.
Get a life. Really do you think that those kids would listen? Its their choice to stop when they are at their limit. Besides being online and all is safe then letting them out the streets doing drugs or something.
Compare seriously, Those who have wireless at home, parents are not worried that they are hanging out in the middle of the night with friends in the mall. And they can SEE their kids in their rooms. Not having fun the arcades.
Like myself i rather stay at home and go online. At least my parents know its safer then letting me out with my friends. With the whole virus thing, im glad that im not used to be out and about in the mall.
With that i end it.

some may have quarantined themselves in their homes even though they are not infected.I'm saying that some are doing the best they can from getting infected.
And another thing....blaming the weak students for being restless....this is natural and i hope u know that the disease can be transmitted throug infected surfaces and peers ...so basically its very contagious ....
And lastly....im kinda excited reading the early part but now im disappointed reading it all the way...and now ur blaming technology for restlessness?from the looks of it,u've experienced this all before hehehe not trying to be harsh or anything just find that "tidak laku" funny and how u relate H1N1 to that "tidak laku" thing hahah
And shout out to MOE and MOH....i hope u guys are ready for whats coming on monday and for the students GOOD LUCK!!!
So now i'm out! have a good night! Peace out! and dont be rude to ur elders

Thermometers and masks are provided,
I've read alot of comments on the same issue, that the mask cannot 100% protect a person against H1N1.If it does protect ,when the students are having their break time, when they eat they will of course take off the mask.
The temperature of the students are taken, but a person who has H1N1 virus inside his/her body will only have fever after 4-7days after infected.By the time they found out that the student has H1N1, his/her classmates all have the chances to get the virus too.
It is really dangerous. Since the school reopen date is confirmed, can do nothing about it. Just see how MoH and MoE will handle H1N1.
I'm really scared.

Problem
1) Parent bring their children for vacation. Who is responsible?
2) Parent extend their holiday for another week. Who is responsible?
2) Teenager is wondering at the mall. Who is responsible?
3) Not able to study at home? Who is responsible?
I suppose all know the answer.
MOE and MOH is under a lot of pressure as well. Give your great opionion and help them out on what should be done then just open or close. I suppose choosing the best solution out from 350,000 people brain is much better then thinking by themselve. Yes yes, many are children. I know you will say.
My solution might not work but I suppose all of you can suggest
Proposal
1) Since the school is close and teacher is still working there should be a lot of empty class room. Why not open to those who are taking the Government examination. They need to cover their subject on time. Since there are so many empty class room. School can spread them into smaller group. This will allow the teacher to monitor their student easier and not allow the virus to spread so quickly in case there really is H1N1. The pace will be slower because teacher need to go to more class, so the teacher will have to be a bit more hardworking and time should be shorten for teacher to cover the class. I suppose teacher should already know how to manage time. A slow start is always better then staying at home or wondering in the mall. For those who feel unsecure, the school better not make the class compulsory because they can't concentrate as well. So since parent would like school to be close. They should have the responsible to make their children study at home on the subject to be cover and ask question in class when you think is safer to go to school or when the class become compulsory again. Not fair? then give your suggestion.
2) For the student not taking goverment exam. Class should open and should not be compulsory as well. Teacher should give the syallabus for the people who feel unsecure to study at home and teach the student who would like to go to school. I think the group will be small which should be easier to monitor as well. If this ok. Parent should play their role as well for their children to study at home instead of wondering around Children can't say nothing to do as well.
Please take note that parent should still be the one responsible and making sure that their children should not go to school if their children is sick in the morning.
If everyone cooperate, i think there should not be a lot of teenager at the public doing nothing. We must cooperate to fight the swine flu and if we are not, then who else can we blame.

And seriously if REST and SLEEP could miraculously help cure H1N1 I think the virus wouldn't be spreading like wild fire as it is right now. It's not a matter of those things you know, but how each and everyone's antibodies function. Kids as young as 4 years old get infected and it's not because of any lack of sleep or rest. And what about the other countries that are affected? Is it because they aren't getting enough sleep and rest as well? That they're too caught up with chatting and whatever? And that 'tidak laku' comment you made. From the looks of it, you're probably the one who is bitter and 'tidak laku' that drove you to post your useless comments.
I applaud You're So Smart's comment to you. You don't really understand the situation. Get your facts straight dude. If you don't have anything useful or worthwhile to say, just shut up next time.

what is meant by the author was sleeping is good to prevent swine flu..
GO READ SOME BIOLOGY BOOK!!
you're just being a typical type of community..
firstly..who caused the swine flu to spread in Brunei? the one who was infected when they are abroad..YOU SHOULD BLAME THEM
secondly..those 'young' people who always complained that they got nothing to do at home thats why they 'jalan2 untuk buang boring'..GUYS,YOU"RE BEING SO SELFISH HERE,WHATS THE POINT YOU GUYS ASKING FOR EXTENSION OF HOLIDAY WHEN YOU SELFISHLY GO OUTSIDE? THATS WHY SWINE FLU IS SPREADING..BECAUSE OF SELFISH 'young' PEOPLE.PEOPLE LIKE YOU MAKING URSELF SUFFER DUDE!!
thirdly..you say that you don't wanna die early..remember that..ALLAH YANG MENETAPKAN BILA KAMU MATI..IM NOT BEING SO ALIM HERE BUT JUST REALISED THAT..
lastly,im sure one of you will be safe as school now check the body temperature before entering the class,if they found out if someone has a temp higher than 38 degree celcius..they will immediately ask them to go home and being quarantined for a week.SO NO WORRIES ABOUT THE SPREADING OF DISEASE..
FROM ALL I CAN SEE..YOU GUYS ARE JUST LIKE ANOTHER TYPICAL PEOPLE,ALWAYS COMPLAIN WITHOUT THINKING.CEMANA NEGARA KAN MAJU NE.AND OUR CCA WAS BEING CLOSED BECAUSE IN ORDER TO COPE WITH THE SYLLABUS AND THAT IS BECAUSE OF YOUR SELFISHNESS..

I don’t understand why all face masks was running out of stock in Brunei but there are not many people who use face mask in public. Where all the masks go to??? or is a trend to fight for face mask nowadays during this time?
I wear face mask to shopping and everyone though I am an alien who infected with swine flu. Is it too much… or we should act like nothing to go around to see whether we are lucky enough for not caughting the deadly flu.
Wake up Brunei people!! It would be useless for the government to put their effort to fight against the H1N1 if nobody willing to work together.
