Standard Chartered shares SME progress with MoF

Standard Chartered Bank hosted a visit for Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Finance Dato Paduka Awang Haji Ali bin Haji Apong, with a group of senior officials from the Ministry of Finance, to the bank's SME Centre in Gadong, according to a press release.

Standard Chartered Bank Chief Executive Officer Siew Chuen and Standard Chartered Bank SME and Mortgages General Manager Lim Yu Kwang, as well as other senior management of the bank, were on hand to welcome the visitors.

Siew Chuen said, "We are delighted to have this opportunity to share an overview of our SME segment and the growth achieved since we started this business.

"With over 90 per cent of businesses in Brunei being SME, Standard Chartered Bank understands the special needs of this segment and has a dedicated team to cater to SMEs.

"On top of this, Standard Chartered Bank is an International Bank with strong local support and an extensive international network and trade expertise spanning 50 countries globally, that can help SMEs in their business expansion."

Lim, meanwhile, said, "Standard Chartered Bank has expanded its range of services and products for SMEs with its latest product, Trade Working Capital.
