Megamas Inks Contracts With BSP For Offshore, HSE Training

Bandar Seri Begawan - A Contract signing ceremony, held at Megamas Training Company, Mumong, Kuala Belait, was held recently. Hjh Khadijah CA Mohamed, Managing Director of Megamas Training Company Sdn Bhd and Hj Mohd Soffian Hj Umar, Head of HSE and Security for Brunei Shell Petroleum Company Sdn Bhd (BSP) signed the contract extensions for both the Offshore Survival and HSE/Permit to Work/Defensive Driving Contracts for (four plus four years) and (two plus two years) respectively.

Megamas have been a leading training provider for BSP for many years, and the extension of the contract will provide the foundation for continued cooperation between both parties for the future in offshore and HSE training.

Today, 80 per cent of Megamas staff is local Bruneian citizens, and, for BSP, Megamas has developed a good reputation for developing local citizens, including investing in their training overseas.

According to Hjh Khadijah: "These contract extensions will provide stability of employment for our Bruneian staff."

Mohd Roger Ainsworth, General Manager of Megamas, also commented that Megamas together in partnership with BSP can now build on the existing consistency of training to further improve the courses.

Steve England pointed out that yesterday that the signing of contracts represented a strong commitment by BSP in recognising Megamas for their safety performance, quality, and Bruneisation achievements.

He continued by adding that Megamas is unique for "delivering courses specific to BSP's needs, and the "Front Line Competent Worksite Supervisor" (IMS-5) course is a good example of working together to achieve overall `GOAL ZERO', namely, no harm to people or the environment".  -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
