Bandar Seri Begawan - DSO Jamaludin bin Ahmad has officially been appointed as the new Regimental Sergeant Major (RSM) of the Fire and Rescue Department in a ceremony held at the Fire and Rescue Training Centre yesterday.

The former RSM, Station Officer Hj Hassan bin Hj Jamudin in his speech said, "The responsibilities and duties of RSM is very heavy that needs a person who possesses good mindset and knowledge. The duties cover not only the field of marching but also monitoring discipline and ethical matters or officers.

He added, "Based on the trust of -the head of department and senior officers that have been put onto me, I was able to carry out my duties smoothly and here I would like to convey my, appreciation to all the members of Fire and Rescue Departments for their cooperation during the time I was on duty

"With huge experience, I am confident my successor will also be able to carry out the duties with honour and flawlessly. I also hope that members of the Fire and Rescue will provide the support and cooperation in carrying out his daily duties,"

Guest of honour at the ceremony was the Superintendent of Fire and Rescue, Mohd Azanisham bin Abdullah, who is also the Commandant of Fire and Rescue Training Centre.
