Brunei-Muara Bag 3 Table Tennis Gold

Bandar Seri Begawan - Brunei-Muara Table Tennis team snatched three gold medals in the final day of table tennis event of the Junior Sports Festival at the Menglait Sports Complex yesterday.
In the boy's double event, the pairing of M Khairuddin M and M a Fizhar of Brunei Muara was too strong and easily defeated Lei Jian Liang and Lei Tian Yu of Kuala Belait 3-1 to grab gold. Bronze went to the pairing of Temburong and Tutong.
In the boy's single event, M Khairuddin M of Brunei Muara defeated his partner in the doubles, M A Fizhar, to capture the gold medal in a five-set thriller 12-10, 9-11, 9-11, 11-4 and 11-5. Bronze went to Lei jian Liang of Kuala Belait and Wee Tzu Boon of Temburong.
Brunei Muara Table Tennis Team also took the gold medal in the boy's team event. Silver went to Kuala Belait. Temburong took the bronze.
In the girl's single final, Temburong's Lim Mei Jean bagged gold with an impressive 11-8, 11-7 and 11-7 win against Ting Siew Chien of Kuala Belait. Bronze medals went to Lee Wen Yee of Kuala Belait and Kiung Siang Yi of Temburong.
In the mixed double event, Temburong's Wee Tzu Boon and Loh Xue Yee bagged gold after beating Lei Jian Yung and Amelia Koh of Kuala Belait, 11-6, 11-5, 7-11 and 11-9. Bronze went to Goh Teck Chin and Kiung Siang Yi of Temburong and Lai Yan Tat and Lee Wen Yee of Kuala Belait.
Kuala Belait's first gold came from the girls double when Audrey Koh partnering Ting Siew Chien defeated Lim Mei Jean and Goh Jia Yih of Temburong, 11-9,11 - 2,8-11 and 14-12 in the final. Bronze medals went to Temburong's Kiung Siang Yi and Loh Xue Ye with Han, Soo Yong and Wong Kung Hui of Brunei-Muara.
In the girl's team event, the Kuala Belait ladies team took gold followed by Temburong, silver, and BruneiMuara, bronze.
Prizes were awarded by Haji Mohamad Bin Penglima Asgar Dato Paduka Hj Abdullah, Director of Youth and Sports. Also present were Brunei Darussalam Table Tennis Association members. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
