The Ports Department will be able to receive and approve applications registered by shipping agents, forwarding agents, transportation companies, as well as stevedoring companies.
Interested parties will be able to apply for rental of warehouses, office and land area electronically using the forms specified by the department.
The system will also allow the department to receive permits for dangerous goods, explosives, radioactive material and dangerous substances from the relevant approving authorities, while giving access to relevant authorities to acquire information on types of cargo imported through Muara Port by a special password issued by the department.
The service will also enable the Berthing Section of the Ports Department to submit daily shipping schedules to all relevant sections electronically, to plan manpower, allocate cargo slots at open areas and/or transit shed upon receiving ship arrival advice and import cargo manifest.
The Ports Department would also be able to plan manpower allocation of loading and unloading equipment facilities after receiving a request to load and unload cargo from forwarding agents and/or transportation companies. -- Courtesy of The Brunei Times
